Project Background

Fashion of outsourcing gives business opportunity for the logistic industry for more and more organizations are now focusing on their core businesses and use the strategy of outsourcing the logistics activities, which include the activities of picking and packaging, delivering, and inventory control. To take this opportunity, logistics service providers must be able to deliver speedy and convenient service to clients, and hence help them to achieve better management and control on supply chains and inventories.

Having considered the needs of the logistics service providers, an E-shipping System is particularly developed for shipping companies with the following purposes:

  • To allow electronic data interchange among business partners and thus enhance the communication between service provider and its customers.
  • To simplify the tasks of handling shipping order.
  • To reduce the paper handling tasks.
  • To provide a convenient and effective way to manage the company's data.

System Features

The E-shipping System has tow main parts. The first is the part that allow client to obtain shipping schedule and shipping order from the Internet. The second part is an application that allows staff to manage and access the data, which is necessary for handling each shipping transaction. The following interfaces are part of the system application that allow the staff to view and update various data, including the shipping order, bill of lading, and warehouse data.
